About us
Salzburg Sightseeing Tours is the oldest and leading Sightseeing company in the city of Salzburg. As a daughter company of Albus/Salzkraft that was already founded in 1927/28 Salzburg Sightseeing has offered high quality tours in and around Salzburg for more than 85 years. Since 1986 (Albus) and 1992 (Salzkraft) both bus companies including Salzburg Sightseeing Tours are under the ownership of Dr. Richard.

| 1929 | First trip up to the Gaisberg Mountain by Albus and Salzkraft; Ticket offices in Mirabellplatz for Salzkraft and Hanuschplatz for Albus opened |
| 1930 | Tours were extended from the middle of the 1930s. Daily tours also to the Großglockner Mountain and tours within Austria |
| 1955 | Albus and Salzkraft as well as SAG (1. Salzburger Autobus Gesellschaft) merged |
| 1963 | The first Untersberg Mountain cable car tours were offered |
| 1964 | Albus provided up to 7 buses during filming for the successful musical 'Sound of Music'. |
| 1967 | First tour operator of organised 'Sound of Music' Tours |
| 1968 | The Sound of Music Tour was included in the Sightseeing Tour permanently |
| 1985 | Albus Incoming founded. |
| 1986 | Change to Salzburg Sightseeing Tours; Introduction to year round tours |
| 1992 | Renovation of ticket-kiosk at Mirabellplatz; Columbus Groups&Incentives founded |
| 1997 | Change of Albus Incoming in 'Welcome Touristic'; |
| 1998 | Maria von Trapp is visiting the Team of Salzburg Sightseeing Tours |
| 2006 | A special promotion was made of our Mozart City Tour to coincide with the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth; |
| 2008 | Introduction of Hop on Hop off City Tour |
| 2009 | Member of Gray Line Worldwide; |
| 2010 | Change of 'Welcome Touristic' to 'Columbus Welcome Management'; |
| 2012 | Extension of Hop on Hop off City Tour to 9 languages and 2 additional Sound of Music channels in English and Spanish |
